Physical activity in excessive heat outside can put athletes and those working outdoors at risk of heat-related illness, stress, or significant injury. Heat stress can slow reaction time or cause mental errors that can contribute to a loss. Until now, sports teams had limited tools to manage heat stress. Athletes were instructed to drink large quantities of cold water and used fans or misters to provide temporary relief.
