HOW IT WORKS

The ICE System enables users to rapidly cool their body. This is most effectively done when the users hands and forearms are fully submerged in ice water while pumping the legs in place to increase blood flow. Heat transfers from the body to the ice in the basin through convection and conduction. The ICE System optimizes the cooling effect and successfully lowers core temperature, which is directly related to heart rate and blood pressure reduction.

EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE ON THE HUMAN BODY

A normal human body’s skin temperature is approximately 91.4°F (33°C) with a comfort zone between 82°F to 100°F (28°C to 38°C). When skin temperature is over 100°F, the body enters the heat-hazard zone where a person may experience heat-related illness such as heat stroke.
